INTERVENTIONAL CT, MRI, & ULTRASOUND
Manukau Radiology is able to provide musculoskeletal CT, ultrasound and Interventional service as well as MRI. This includes peripheral joint/sacroiliac joint injections, tendon sheath injections, bursa injections, trigger point injections, facet injections, nerve root blocks and discography.
Steroid Joint Injections
The procedure will involve a small injection of local anaesthetic, followed by an injection of the steroid cortisone into your joint. You will need to be at Manukau Radiology for an estimated 30 minutes.
Ultrasound Guided Biopsies
In order to help you get the correct diagnosis we will perform a procedure called an Ultrasound guided biopsy. This test involves obtaining a small piece of tissue to send to the laboratory for examination under a microscope to determine the cause of your problem. Instructions for preparation and information relating to the biopsy will be sent to you with your appointment.
There are some procedures that require preparation. You will be advised of these at the time of making your appointment.
